A registered representative is a person who is appointed with full rights to act on behalf of another legal entity. SARS requires entities to have a registered representative for the sake of performing certain functions via eFiling, for example filing a VAT return or income tax return, and to transfer a tax type. A registered representative needs a South African income tax number.
